What you'll be stepping into
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Must have a PhD in the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Systems & Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering OR any PhD with research concentration in Core Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Network Engineering, Information and Cyber Security, or Information Engineering Disciplines from a recognized institution of higher learning.
2. Must have a Master’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning.
3. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning.
4. Must have at least three (3) years of university teaching experience at the rank of lecturer. OR must be willing to serve at a lower rank before attaining the requisite teaching experience
5. Should have undertaken a minimum of two current scholarly article publications in relevant disciplines.
6. Must be a mature and practicing Christian.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department in the semester.
2. To carry out research, assessment of exams and other assignments, teaching, mentoring, supervision of undergraduate research, development of specialist teaching and learning provision, including short courses in the area of specialization and related disciplines.
3. To contribute to the broader engagement of scholarly and professional communities, including reputation both internally and externally.
4. To contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum.
5. To assist in the development of learning materials and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
6. To provide student support in pastoral roles, counselling and career guidance to students.
7. To participate in the administration of the department’s programs of study and other activities as requested including, building e-learning into the delivery of teaching to students as appropriate.
8. To contribute to departmental, faculty and wide working groups or committees as required.
9. Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
