Eligible artisan groups are encouraged to submit detailed proposals demonstrating how the grant will improve their production capacity, preserve traditional crafts, and generate lasting economic benefits for their communities.

HANDMADE to MARKET is committed to equipping artisan businesses with the knowledge, resources, market access, and partnerships needed to thrive in the global marketplace. Through business development, design innovation, environmentally responsible production practices, and market expansion, the organization seeks to improve livelihoods while preserving traditional craftsmanship.

The Canvas Home Small Grants programme is intended to help established artisan organizations purchase essential materials, tools, equipment, or marketing services that enable them to expand production, create jobs, and increase household incomes.

Each successful applicant may receive a grant of up to USD 1,500.

Two Grant Categories Available

Applicants may apply under one of two funding categories depending on their organizational needs.

Eligible expenses include:

Geographic Reference

  • Purchase of raw materials for craft production.

  • Acquisition of tools and production equipment.

  • Establishment of raw material or tool banks.

  • Technical assistance and artisan training workshops.

  • Product design and innovation training.

  • Business management and marketing skills development.

  • Digital cameras and internet connectivity.

  • Website development.

  • Creation of centralized artisan workshops

Funding may support:

  • Participation in craft fairs and exhibitions.

  • Display shelves and exhibition equipment.

  • Marketing materials such as brochures and catalogues.

  • Promotional activities to reach new customers.

  • Product marketing initiatives that increase sales opportunities.
