What you'll be stepping into

The Main Campus is seeking a creative, hardworking, and detail-oriented Design and Graphics Assistant to support the University's communications, branding, digital content, and public relations activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality visual content for print and digital platforms, supporting social media campaigns, maintaining brand consistency, assisting with website and multimedia content, and providing creative support for institutional events and communication activities.

The Design and Graphics Assistant will support the University's visual communication and public relations activities by creating engaging and professional designs for both digital and print platforms.

The role involves graphic design, social media content creation, branding, website and multimedia support, event promotion, photography, basic video editing, and collaboration with academic and administrative departments.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design Support

  • Design and produce digital and print materials, including posters, flyers, banners, and infographics.

  • Create visual materials that support the University's academic and community outreach activities.

  • Support the preparation and formatting of communication materials as directed by the supervisor.

  • Revise existing designs based on feedback and communication requirements.

  • Prepare creative artwork suitable for both print and digital publication.

Social Media Content Support

  • Prepare visual content for platforms including TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn.

  • Support online campaigns promoting academic programmes and University events.

  • Develop visual materials that effectively communicate institutional messages.

  • Maintain an organised archive of digital content.

Branding and Visual Identity

  • Maintain consistency in the University's visual identity.

  • Ensure correct use of logos, typography, colour schemes, and messaging.

  • Apply institutional branding standards across digital and print materials.

Website and Multimedia Support

  • Design, update, and maintain visual and multimedia content for University websites.

  • Ensure website visual content is accurate, relevant, and user-friendly.

  • Assist with photo editing when required.

  • Support basic video clipping and editing activities.

Event Promotion and Coverage

  • Assist in preparing promotional materials for University events.

  • Support event photography and videography.

  • Assist with basic editing of photographs and video content.

  • Help document and promote institutional events through appropriate visual content.

Collaboration and Institutional Support

  • Work collaboratively with academic and administrative departments to meet their communication and promotional needs.

  • Provide design support for admissions, marketing, and public relations activities.

  • Work independently while also providing creative support to the wider communications team.

Minimum Requirements

  • A good Bachelor's degree, with at least a 2:1, in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, or a related field from a recognised institution of higher learning.

  • At least 2 years of experience in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.

  • High level of integrity and commitment.

  • Ability to creatively prepare artwork for print and digital publication.

  • Ability to work independently and provide support to a wider team.

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and deliver tasks to a high professional standard.

  • Must maintain a professional manner.

  • Must be a committed and practising Christian.

Desirable Skills

The following will be an added advantage:
